Default weight diff. between TT or Supra LCAs ?

Does anyone know the actual weight difference between a Supra LCA and a TT Supra aluminum LCA, and if we knew the price diff. that would be great.

I was hoping someone worked in the parts dept. of a Toyota dealer, and could throw one of each on the scales for us.

Just wanted to clear up that the 93-96 Supra TT and NA use the same lower control arms. Same goes for the 97-98 except they are aluminum.

That would be cool if someone can weight them though. See if that extra ~$150 is worth the lighter weight.

unless you are serious about racing and need to lose all the unnecessary weight, and most importantly the unsprung weight then the extra 150 bucks is not justified.

In the whole scheme of things, depending on the diff. in weight, $300.00 for a one time changeout part would not be the worst thing. I have changed out a LCA on a car recently, and it was heavy. That solid steel adds up.

do you actually track your car? if not then its not that important. that 300 bucks can be spend in a much better way. you wont be able to tell a difference in performance due to weight anyways.

a professional driver might be able to tell a difference in suspension response...most people wont.

n aluminum hull structure, built to the same standards, weighs roughly 35% to 45% less than the same hull in steel. As a result, if high strength is of the highest priority, the alloy boat can be built to the same structural weight as the steel vessel, and then be considerably stronger. "

maybe 5-6 pounds a control arm. I WAS thinking about it but I rather use the $300 some where else.

Thanks for bringing my old thread back. If anyone springs for the aluminum, be sure and let us know. Funny, the C 95 Corvette was $10,000 less, but came with aluminum control arms.
