Default SC400 Brake Pads

What Brake pads are you running? I'm going to need a brake job done soon and was trying to find the best performance pads for the 400.

Searched didn't find much info...

I was looking around and i'm guessing the "EBC REDSTUFF CERAMIC 3000 SERIES BRAKE PAD SET" is probably the best performance wise we're going to find for the Sc400. Does anyone have these on their car, any input in this thread would be greatly appreciated.

Description: "EBC REDSTUFF CERAMIC 3000 SERIES BRAKE PAD SET -- Made From A High Quality Kevlar Fibre-Based Compound That Is Enhanced With Ceramic Particles, Engineered For Highly Tuned And High Horsepower Cars, Lasts Longer, Brakes Better And Quieter Than Pre-Ceramic Compound Pads, Best For High-Speed Spirited Street Driving And Heavy Duty Braking, Designed To Minimize Brake Dust Up To 50% Better Than Standard Pads, Features Center Line Slots To Prevent Cracking And A Coating Which Cleans Up Rotors And Accelerates Pad Break-In, Set Includes Left And Right Brake Pads, Recommended For Cars With 200 Brake Horsepower And Above"

I like semi metallic pads. Not to much metal and okay on brake dust.

I am very happy with the Lexus OEM replacement pads, they're a little noisy but not too messy and they bite really nice on the stock rotors.

Bumping this thread to see if anyone else has some recommendations.

I just had my SC400 in for maintenance, got the front rotors cleaned and machined with new Toyota pads. The rears will need replacing in the spring. When it comes time, I would like to replace all 4 pads with something more aggressive, while sticking with OEM rotors.

So far, I'm looking at the Porterfeilds...

Anyone know how hard it is to change over to slotted rotors. See some for sale on ebay and would like bigger better brakes on my 92 SC400.

If you're going bigger, it will be more of a project then just a rotor swap.

Finally got the Porterfield R4-S's installed. They're exactly what I was looking for, they grab much better then the Toyota pads. A really noticeable difference when braking hard, but at the same time there have been no squeaks and the dust isn't bad either. If you don't plan on upgrading to a BBK, then definitely check these out
