Floaty Suspension on Gs?
I dont get this i read about our suspension on gs's being to soft to be considered sport. I get no float out of mine and I assume it has stock struts. I wouldnt change my ride at all. Hell my 92 chevy lumina is alot softer, but i would say that is because of 200,000 miles.

well I have drove about every type of car you can think of and it rides better I think. Maybe Im getting old and just like the smooth comfortable ride. I have had several import and domestic sports cars. Ive had 4 door sport and the only thing that i think would compare to my ride in gs is my 97 maxima. that was a pretty comfortable ride. I have drove a lincoln town car and now that thing felt soft. if you hit a bump on the highway it would bounce like a boat. It only had like 30,000 miles. had the air setup. I was not impressed with it at all. not impressed with new cadillacs either. they are ruffer ride than gs. I dont get the rides like a cadillac saying.

IMHO, stock suspension is SOFT and a bit floaty but VERY comfortable. When I went with the TEIN CS v2, I was SHOCKED to find that she's still comfortable but no float whatsoever when set to stiffest. When I dialed the coils at the middle there was VERY slow float but still COMFORTABLE.

Stock, my GS400 was soft and "floaty". Take a high speed turn >60mph and you'll feel the car lean a bit and and it would bounce giving you this feeling of uneasiness. Once I switched over to my L-tuned springs and Bilstein shocks, the float altogether disappeared. Stock setup, when you hit bumps, it would have a feeling of bounce to it. Again, once I switched over to the L-tuned setup (in my opinion, what the original setup should have been), it would be quite composed--hit a bump, the aftermarket setup absorbs it, but it would still be comfortable; firm, but comfortable. My guess is that the stock spring rates are fine--but the shocks were tuned too much towards the soft ride. Also, with the stock shocks, it seems if you cruised on straight aways on the highway above 70mph, it would seem to have a soft bounce to it and would be less "composed" that I would have liked. It was almost unnerving to drive around a moderate hill corner at freeway speeds.
At a minimum, for anyone not interested in lowering their car and getting a better, sportier, yet still quite comfortable ride, I would highly suggest the Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks to get rid of the Lexus float.
