Just had the pads changed friday......First thing I noticed was , "less grabbing" of the pads......Feels much better....

I put about 175 miles on the car since.....a bunch of highway miles and some stop and go in the city. IMHO the new pads work just as good, and they still look clean.

I got mines done at Magnussen Lexus last weekend (I took their last set of pads) and drove about 150 miles since then. My rims are definitely cleaner with these low dust pads. I didn't notice any changes in brake performance either. The only other concern I have, is how these new pads wear on the rotors. I remember reading from another post that Luboxracer measured a possible increase, maybe even twice as fast rotor wear with these pads.

I'll be doing some follow up on that now that I am approaching 40k miles. It is important to note that I am now getting ~20.5 mpg average, and when I was in California I was getting ~27 mpg because all my trips were at least 100 miles. Now they're ~20 miles each way to work in heavy traffic, so I expect the brakes are wearing much faster just from the new usage pattern. I'll measure this weekend when I put in the Earl's speedbleeders and do a brake fluid change.

Thanks Lobuxracer for following up. Any chance when you do the brake fluid change to also capture some pictures and DIY info? I use to change the brake fluid on my previous car, an Integra quite often, I wasn't sure if it's the same with the IS.

OK, so I was going to do this today and my 20 year old floor jack died on me. I'll have to wait to measure the brakes and do the fluid refresh.

Man these pads are much much better. Same stopping power as before and incredile reduction on brake dust.
I used to wipe down the brake dust on my 20s every single day. Now I wipe once a week or not at all since I wash my car almost every week. Whoever made this is frickin awesome.

Don't you mean Earl's Solo Bleeders? If so, which part number does the 350 use? I've been wanting to get some for about a year, but couldn't decide which part number I should try first.

I had the pads changed over a month ago on my IS250 and am very happy with them. The only thing I have noticed is they are not as grippy. The stock pads seemed to touchy and made the car seem to lurch too much when putting on the brakes, even with very little brake pressure. I am happy with the feel of the new brakes and the fact that now the car can go over 2 days without looking dirty.

I used to clean my wheels every other day. Now every 2 to 3 weeks or whenever I wash my car.

Yeah, Earl's Solo Bleeders. 280041 is what I bought. Summit is here in town so if they're not the right ones I can exchange them pretty easily.

i recently had the Brake TSIB and i think it's a great improvement.. it's really not as bad as before especially when i have gold rims...

so the pads went from a metaloc/cermaic to a pure cermaic? do we know if akebono makes them for lexus?
