whats he best thing to do in a situation like this??

if your going like 60???

My instinct would be...slam the parking brake and pop the car in neutral?
I'm not sure if thats the best idea...

If i had no braking power, I would throw the transmission into the lowest gear possible for engine braking. Desperate times calls for desperate measures, so slam on that e-brake. And then you hope for the best

Downshifting is way more effective than neutral as hiway speeds.

Downshift, apply the parking brake gradually as you slow, shift from second to neutral to stop.

Downshifting to the lowest gear possible and hitting the e-brake would be the thing to do in a last ditch desparate situation. I'd rather blow an engine and transmission rather than go into a wall.

Like jeff said, I rather not go through the wall. I can replace my car anytime, but I can't just buy a new life The car would be the last thing I would worry about in that case.

Sucks to have it happen, especially when driving fast, but its a maintenance item that shouldn't be overlooked.

When the brakes were changed out, the brake lines should have been inspected for wear.

Who changed your brakes for you? If it was an inexperienced person, that person may have left your caliper hanging from the brake line when they removed it from your car.
You could be right they spent a long time fixing that wheel because they say the pad had froze up. Im gonna take it to them tomorrow to check it out.

Trouble-T, you said you had to refill your brake fluid? You should NEVER have to refill the brake fluid. It never dries up. The only time the fluid level will go down is if you have a leak.
At the time I wasnt really thinking anything was wrong because I only had to put a little bit of fluid in there.

It wasnt a brake line failure, yesterday my dad check it and the person who did my brakes last left one of the screws out of the caliper. So when I hit a bump the caliper popped up and the piston came out of it. I couldnt find the piston piece for sale so I had to buy a whole new caliper. Now when I drive down the road and go to brake my car is making a really bad squealing noise. Anyone have any suggestions.
