Also something to keep in mind, this is a visual performance mod, not a mechanical performance mod. Lowering the car this much typically means the roll centers are below pavement level and the roll couples are extremely long which means the car will want to roll a LOT more in a turn. This necessitates extremely stiff springs to prevent excessive roll.

So, it may look cool, but it will not help you drive around corners faster and may actually make the car slower around corners.

Just food for thought.

Interesting Lobux...

I thought lowering you car kind-of reduced body roll....

But i guess at some point, going beyond the limit can actually increase it...

Strange how that works.

Thanks for the 411

thats odd, wen i had my rsx-s slammed all the way on my Tein type s coilovers, i thought it would effect the cornering but instead it seemed as if i had no body roll what-so-ever

Ok guys... For the record. I went out an did my own measurements.

Left Front = 22.5 (22nHalf)
Right Front = i didnt measure but im sure its about 22.75 (the passenger side always is higher, for some reason)

So there you go... 1 more inch of a drop for TIEN SS owners

That's because Tein specifies springs typically twice (or more) of the stock rate. This makes the car very stiff and reduces compliance most often when you need it most like braking over washboard surfaces. My tC had this problem and nearly got me in an accident when the ABS refused to allow me to lock the wheels and the wheels refused to follow the road surface, so I go almost no braking while the car was bouncing off the tops of the bumps. FWIW, it wasn't a panic stop when I started braking, and I had lots of room, but after the car failed to slow, it turned into a panic stop very quickly.

Just curious for the owners who have the SS and the CS, how different is the ride comfort between the two types of setups?

Yes, but of then names are given for marketing reasons and don't live up to reality. I'd be nice to have first hand confirmation.

I have never driven in a car with SS, so i would not know.

However, the Tien CS is really soft. I can imagine that the SS is much stiffer and would bother most IS / Lexus owners looking for the stock (IS) ride feel...
