This is a pretty cool thread. Didn't know the entire subframe could be swapped. Can someone put up a how-to with pictures? I think would be a cool sticky.

Ok, so inorder to fit Supra TRD Sways on the rear of my 97 sc300, I need a supra rear subframe?

Or else what the sways won't fit on? Will the front sway bar mount up w/o an issue?

Just need subframe mounts for rear Supra sways to fit. Fronts should fit fine. You need the rear subframe if you want to use the rear Supra control arms.

Correct...... Lil clarification Val. We call 'em subframe mounts, but really
they are rear swaybar mounts that bolt to the subframe. The mounts
from the supra will bolt to the SC frame. The OE SC bar mounts in totally
different spot. Look @ a supra then check your SC, you'll get it.

Back from the dead....

Supra Dr. - ever manage to scrounge up any pics of this?

What's REQUIRED for the subframe upgrade besides the subframe? I'm assuming you NEED to do the control arms, but that you don't need to do the HD diff, brake calipers, rotors, and say bar (being that these are already interchangable with the SC). Axles?

Also - where did you manage to pick the subframe up? Junkyard? Not too many people parting Supra's. Is there a difference between the TT subframe and the N/A subframe?

Follow the six speed swap link in my sig. In that thread you will see both a 6 speed subframe and a stock SC, Plus you will see everything you need to do to put it in. Its a easy swap all in all, The ebrake cables were the only catch but those to were swapped.

About post 34 or 35 is where the subframe starts.
Post 48 I start comparing them

If you're not swapping in any of the upgrade parts, what's the point? lol

Because my factory rear subframe may be damaged (common for high HP supras), the supra rear subframe is an upgrade in itself (stonger w/ shorter control arms for less unsprung weight - plus probably stiffer bushings as is the case with the front control arms), and I don't want to drop extra $$$ that I don't need to right now on a rear diff, axles, etc... lol

^^ Yep pretty straight up like Scott said. Swapped mine w/ tires on
- roll 1 out / roll the other in.

Parts, got lucky. Got a low mileage TT w/ body, roof damage.
Thats the "frame swap" or body off in my sig, cuz it was off.
