Do we have screws that hold our brake discs to the hub?! I just had my rotors.....
....replaced, and NONE of the rotors, front or rear, are attached to the hub. With the wheels off of the car, I can wiggle the rotor all around (forward and back until the lug bolts stop the rotational progress, and in-and-out like a spinning top about to topple over). WTF!!!!?
Please let me know ASAP before I storm into the repair shop in the morning!
Thanks,
DD.

Hmmmmmmmmmm. Well, that's different then.
I guess I'll have to be circumspect as I discuss this in the morning. I'll try to call the dealer in the morning.
Thanks!

Yes. This is normal.
1. The Wheel(rim) torqued down to the Hub holds the rotors to the car.
2. With the Wheel off... the rotors can wiggle...but not come loose because the Calipers/Pads and Stud Bolts are still holding them up.
*the only rotors that don't wiggle around are...
...the old rusty rotors that have rusted and seized on to the hub...

some cars have small screws that hold the rotors on; however, i think those screws are on there to make the original assembly easier (ie - when the car was manufactured).

Thanks guys - you are right (dealer confirmed, although it appears that you didn't...
...need that confirmation :-)
thanks for the replies!

BTW, my BMW has two set screws to hold the rotor onto the car, and the LS, gen 1, had them also. I didn't find a rotor changing website and couldn't verify this until the morning.
