The whole shocks blowing out thing is the only thing keeping me from getting springs. Sigh!
Coilover dampers blow out as well. Type CS don't allow the shock body to be lowered. So if you were to slam your car, you would still be compressing the shocks beyond normal. The lower the vehicle, the shorter the life span of the shocks.

JIC Magic allows shock body to be lowered. What this means is you can lower the entire coilover assembly without having to adjust the spring perch. This allows for more suspension travel at a given height. More adjustability, longer life span.

Bottom line, coilover shocks are not indestructible. Eventually you will have to have them overhauled.

Most parking blocks no but some curbs are too tall, you just have to try to realize when it's too tall and not hit it. Oh yeah, 6 months, NO second thoughts.

i would think twice if bumpy roads and potholes are unavoidable (think midwest) on a daily basis. i swapped out the suspension in my old daily driven Si and the aftermarket shocks blew out in a year. what a waste...

No regrets. Love the Eibach pro-kit. Not worried about premature wear on shocks. One Inch drop is nothing. Had it with all my other cars with no problems.

No regrets. Better cornering and does not dip when braking.

I regret not asking for help when I dropped. I did it by myself and it took me about 6 hours.

If you haven't noticed yet, our IS already has trouble with curbs and parking blocks. Imagine a lowered car. Even bigger problem.

Oh yeah, get coilovers. Save up your money and do it right.

Lower end coilovers, such as Tein SS, run about 700-800 per set.

Learned the hard way after my front lip literally went on top of parking block. Lots of scratches. Every time I see parking blocks I park with rear end first.
