Daizen bushings installed - WOW!!!
After a slew of cuss words by my mechanic, a $650 bill and a slew of cuss words from me, the Daizen bushings have been installed on my GS430. What a major difference this made to the front suspension. I am very pleased with the results.
1) vibration when braking at highway speeds - GONE!
2) vibration at highway speeds, particularly passenger seat vibration - GONE!
3) suspension slop on uneven roads - GONE!
It feels as though the car is more firmly planted on the road and the steering response is outstanding.
Thanks to all the CL members for contributing their experiences with this issue. This is probably one of the best mods I have done.
BTW - this is probably not a DIY project. According to my mechanic, the factory bushings had to be removed by burning them out. Then the metal sleeve surrounding the factory bushing had adhered itself to the cast aluminum upper control arm. They carefully cut this out before they could install the Daizen bushings. Anyway this was his excuse for the $650 he charged to do the work.

compared to some of the quotes I've read here, $650 is not that astronomical. Please report back in a week and a month as to whether the improvements are still there. I found sometimes that just by jacking the car up and then putting it back on the ground will make the vibration go away for a while (but it has always returned). I just want to make sure that your fixes are fixed long term.

Crap, I live in the Dallas area. I have someone here that I think is going to give it a try. It will be a couple of months before he can fit it in though. Congrats on having yours done and I can't wait to put mine in.

Maybe a drive down to Houston would be worth it. You won't have to wait two months. It took them the better part of a day to do the install, but now that they know what they are dealing with, perhaps they could complete yours in less time.

$650 seems a little steep, I paid CDN$400 to get mine installed but that's probably because my mechanic wasn't aware of the labour required and I set a fixed price before starting the job after he was done he said he won't ever do these bushings again
