Function X is the 30 way (retail $2400)- made for racing/autocrossing mostly and hardcore enthusiast
Price difference between the 2 are about $300-400 depending on the dealers...but 30 way adjustable shocks, for me personally is overkill...so I saved myself a little bit...most people that have gone from Tein CS/SS to Zeal love the move and did not regret spending the money, but they could have gotten the Zeal set that costs around $3000 (the Function X and XS are Zeal's newest line-up, *I think*)...I'll definitely take pictures when I receive the Zeals...hopefully in a couple of weeks...

Teins are not crap. Whoever says they are crap is just flamebaiting. Look on the GS forum -- majority of coilovers people run are Teins, either CS or Flex. They are much better than the stock shocks Lexus throws on their cars, or at least on the GS. Remains to be seen with the IS, but I don't see why it wouldn't be better than stock. Adjustability alone is awesome.

Agreed. They're not crap, but they surely aren't Penske, Moton, or Ohlins. They also don't cost like any of those either. Yes, I do own Teins for two different cars, so I'm not trying to sound elitist, it's just simple fact they are not first string players.

tein is one of the most reputable aftermarket suspension companies in the world. they are like the eibach of japan. i've had tein coilovers on my 1is for almost 5 yrs w/ the car going through hell and back. it was even used on my 300 for formula d 2004 & 05.. in which it qualified both years.

Tein isn't one of the best suspension companies in the world.. best marketed though. Don't want the people new to suspensions believing that Tein is the king of all suspension products.

OK, so why aren't they in F1, IRL, Indycar, or any other world class racing? Drift is hardly world class anything, and I guarantee you, they're not on the World Rally Cars. Like I said, Penske, Moton, Ohlins. Tein isn't BAD, they're just not top shelf.

Moton makes a Supra (JZA80) application, and anybody with decent fab skills can get these shocks on your car. It won't be cheap though.
