Default Front Lower Control Arm Installation

I need to replace one of my front lower control arms, 2K GS4, but the mechanic told me that a Lexus dealership told him it will take about 5-1/2 hours to replace one . Anybody worked on this already? How long did it take? Please remember this is only for one arm. I’m not sure how hard it is to replace but I might consider DIY. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I think lexforlife did this replacement.. He has replaced just about all his front suspension by himself. Send him a PM about it.. I don't think it took 51/2 hours more like 1-2.. He's very knowledgable when it come to suspension work.. But I'm sure a lot of members on here all.. Me I'm not one of them that's for sure..LOL Good Luck..

Thanks Tony! I'm going to see my mechanic again tomorrow to put my car on the lift and discuss what needs to be done. Hopefully I can convince him that he can do it no more than 2 hours. Otherwise I'll just ask one of my friends, who love to work on cars (just hobbyist), to do it for me with my assistance of course. Will keep you posted.

Got the front lower control arm installed today and it took only an hour. The mechanic told me that he was puzzled by the time estimates from Lexus. When I told him that aside from the new shocks and springs, I also installed new lower ball joints and tie rods. He said that these made the job faster. So including the re-alignment, it took him less than two hours to put the alignments bacl within Lexus specs. Everything is cool now
