hey guys i just put on my coilovers myself which took me a while....they are the tein flex...btw i gotta 99gs4.

well my problem now is how i adjust these things?
I got the all the tires tucked...
Question is by turning the black threaded pole connecting the shocks top to bottom what does that do??

also i got the dampers all turned the way clockwise is that safe???

I am not sure about the first part. It has been awhile since I've seen the Flex.

As for the damping adjustment, full clockwise is fine. That is the closed position and it means you are at stiffest.

To adjust, if you are not sure where the setting is, you should always go full clockwise to reset (not for the sakes of the shocks but just to know where you are exactly) and then back off counter-clockwise. You should never go more than 16 clicks from the closed position (as stated in the docs).

 

I believe its the threaded black pole that allows you to shorten or lengthen the shock...how does this affect anything?

 

I can't remember the color (other than the green) .

BUT, if you are talking about what I think you are, this is something unique to the Flex in the Tein line up. This allows you to lower the car without affection the preload on the springs. This gives you more options when trying to make adjustments in terms of height and handling.
