Default Another brake bleeding question

I've been searching the forums and have come up with mixed DIY instructions from other members about brake bleeding. Car should be on or off? I know there is ABS issues causing the one point twenty one gigawatts of air bubbles into the brake lines.
Please advise.

dude above me is an idiot. u dont have to have the car on. i usually do it with the car off. other wise u could suck in air when the brake pedal returns to its rest position

either you dont own a GS or your ABS is totally screwed up in your car... u need abs on or you wont get a drop out of the lines

about having the car running...you dont really need the car running but you do need the key turned all the way to the right just before actually starting the engine... this gets the braking system which u need on

you can always try searching the forums for more help, cheers

Arrr...don't you suppose to close the bleeder valve before another guy release the brake pedal to prevent the air getting into the hydraulic system.

Off topic:since you're bragging about being a Lexus cert. tech...

So, you're Lexus tech that can log on to lexuscollege. What is your status from www.lctptests.com ?. I mean tech, cert. tech, senior tech, master tech or D.S.(Diagnostic Specialist, in case you don't know this term). To be certified tech all you have to do is got hired by Lexus dealership and go to L005 trainning class/with or without ASE. Anybody with some automotive background from any car manufacturer/Goodyears/Pepboys can walk up to the Lexus dealer and applied for the job. If the price is right and the dealer really need some warm body to fill in the spot, then you got hired. You may work there as a tech for about 6-12 months and the dealership will send you to your first Lexus class which L005 to become certified Lexus tech.

To be a Senior tech, you have to have at least 4 ASE, at least 18 months with Lexus and a few more additional classed.

To be a Master tech, you have to have all 8 ASE, at least 36 months with Lexus and a lot more classes.

To be a D.S, your manager make that decision and if you're willing to do it. It's a pain in the neck job to hold the hands of all the noob, problem cars, test drive with customers, call TAS, make product report, go to the D.S meeting, attend the conference call in your district and working on problem car that nobody wants to work on.

You may wonder " Who the heck you are, Mr. VVT-i ?" Well, re-read my post and you will figure it out. It's good to have Lexus tech in the forum, but if the guy is nothing but Mr. Big Shot/Mr.Loud mount, then you're nobody around here.

To your surprise, Lexus HQ is sufing on CL too , even the Lexus area office in your area.
