Default Tein EDFC operating problem - calling all Tein EDFC users

I have just installed Tein Flex + EDFC into my Lexus GS / Aristo V300 model.

Everything works, but when we de-activate the car, the EDFC memory is wiped.

How do we keep power to unit so it does not lose the memory? We have set it up as per your installation instructions and re-checked our install.

I checked the Tein manual and it indeed does say memory is lost unless there is a power source. With the car locked and switched off, how do we power the Tein Unit?

Or do I have to set the damping manually every time I drive?

Let me know all you Tein EDFC users how to get round this!

Thanks!

There should be one wire that needs to go to an "always on" source. You can run it to the battery. Mine is connected to the ignition wire. Don't ask me which one is the ignition wire since I am not the one who wired it up.

In any case, this should take care of the problem.

^ what he said.

You should have 1 wire that is the "constant" wire. You can hook it up to any source that always has power whether your car is on or off.

i.e. Your stereo constant wire. If you have an aftermarket radio - it's the yellow wire.
If you don't have one, just get a test light and probe around the fuse box to find a "live" wire with your keys out of your ignition

g'luck

OK, we have a constant power feed to the edfc unit....it's wired from the fuel cap opener.

It still loses it's preset memory when the car is turned off!

Any ideas?

OK, for whatever reason it now works 100%. I set it to 16/16 for these bumpy roads and next time I get in the car it's still 16/16.

Where did you finally hook into the constant power? Fuel door switch?

Yeah, fuel door switch. It works now, great handling. Prob. 10KM per hour faster in most corners.
