thanks for the info. how bad does it rub the hood liner? do you have to actually push the hood harder to shut it now?

The bar slightly hits the hoodliner, this is because it has to clear the GS300 engine cover.

You do not need to push any harder to shut it, just close it like you did before.

with the oem ring on, you can't close the hood or even force it to close, w/out the ring, it's still touching for sure, i would say it's sitting against the padding pretty close, a tight fit more like it.

Glad you liked the strut brace... Post some pics

i won't be able to post any for a few days, my parent's computer is stone age to do anything.

I just installed my STB and I left the OEM rings on there and the hood closes fine and my EDFC motors with the rubber covers have good clearance.

Do you have the CS? Because i have the Flex and i can't mount the brace w/out taking off the rubber piece. Maybe my brace that they sent might be different, but i can't close the hood, and i did try to force but it's not gonna happen unless i take off the liner.

the problem with the flex is that the strut tower center point sits quite a bit higher than the cs, that's why with the edfc it's a lot higher than the tein cs with the edfc. that's why it's hitting

but man, with the wings on and you can't put the stb on without denting the hood? that's kinda bad man. i think people should know that, otherwise some people might keep the ring on, put on the bar, and bam on the hood, dent it up......

so gsing430, what you gonna do now? take off the plastic cover on the edfc?

is there any need to have the oem rings on if the bases of the strut brace take their place?

I suggest to take the oem rings out. The strut bar mounts will be strong enough to act as a base for the strut top nuts.

BTW, I was told Friday that the braces for the DSR strut tower bar are primer blue. Has anyone received the DSR strut bar in the past two weeks?
