Angry Broke a bushing!

Grrr. Heard clunking noises and sue enough one of my rear lower control arm bushings is torn up. BTW, you have to but the whole arm to replace. Cost is around $125 retail. I have TRD Blue sways, Tein CS suspension and 25mm spacers in the rear. I have to wonder if the spacers are putting more stress on the bushings.

my theory on this is too much stress/movement within the subframe area.. we do all this coilover and bigger wheels and tires but dont think about how much more stress we are putting on the rest of the susp components.. bushings were only designed to work within a predetermined amount of movement.. we are exceeding max deflection with bigger wheels and tighter suspensions

when was installing my toms 6 piece and rear lower control brace , i studied the underpinnings quite abit.. these braces domore then enchance handling cap but they also do this by keeping movent within subframe to almost none.. so therefore bushings and arms can work within their parameters

again , just my theory

Try giving this place a call . I replace my rear lower control arm bushings with polyurethane bushings on my ls400. I purchased them from this place called Alltoyolex in San Diego Tel.# 877-778-6968 .

See http://www.vftbushes.com for a detailed discussion of how the rubber bushings work. He has aftermarket replacements that are essentially OEM specs for the SC. I don't know about the GS availability or whether the SC parts are compatible. The polyurethane ones by Daizen do work differently though and sometimes cause squeaking/groaning sounds from the suspension.

Thanks guys. I do not want polyurethane. I have had nothing but back luck with them. I prefer rubber. It doesn't squeek nor wear but I think Lex4 life is on the right track. Perhaps I should invest in some braces as I am putting quite a bit more load on there than before.
