Thumbs up The way a Soarer should ride! :)

WOOT!

Fitted another suspension set up to my TT Soarer the other day. Running stock TEMS struts with Espelir Active Super Down springs. All I can say is *bleep*, the difference between my buggered coilovers and these struts are like night and day.

What I Had Before
I had a coilover set up on my Soarer, using Kei-Office coilovers (can't remember which type). Great for getting it sideways, but not good for anything else, too bouncy, way too harsh, the car would even step out a bit when going over a slight bump (WTF!!)... Basically they were driven up sh1te creek and never came back down, my car never rode like how a Soarer should.

Espelir ASD
Espelir ASD lowering springs... progressive rate springs, close to stock ride feel. Spring rates are:
* Front: 7.0k
* Rear: 6.0k

Pics to follow...

Here's a pic of the old Kei-Office coilovers... they don't serve a purpose for me anymore so I used them as a pole to get some leverage when I had to drop the control arms

OK... now that I fitted the new suspension, I expected the Soarer to sit higher (as I had the coilovers set to sit pretty damn low), but nup, I still retain the ride height I had from the coilovers, just with a better ride and no more queezy stomach haha... here's a pic of the guard clearance... I don't really have a problem with the tyres rubbing either so that's a big plus, especially with the suspension at this height.

Here's another pic of the road clearance... All I really have to watch is going over medium~large speed humps etc...

I've still got a bit of camber on the rear wheels, but not as severe as with the coilovers, as the rear is now actually sitting a tad higher than before.

The way she sits now... this is the nicest drop IMO, nearly as low as my old coilover set up! But no problems at all with bottoming out, hitting bump stops etc.

The Verdict
I decided to swap over my death trap suspension with a conventional strut set up, and I ended up with factory TEMS struts and Espelir ASD lowering springs (ASD = Active Super Down). MY GOD what a difference that made! The car rides beautifully now, no more harshness at all, soaks up bumps very nicely without fuss. Not exactly like a stock Soarer, but still rides great.

It rides like how a Soarer should ride, and is at the perfect ride height. I absolutely love this set up! As for the dodgy coilovers, they're just hanging around for now, anyone wanna take them from me? Would make a nice ornament for... something. This set up gets big up's from me I'm very happy with the result!

Happy driving, I know I'll be!

Cheers

Jose

sc400texas,
You can take them, I don't really care, but they're GONE (ie. demolished lol).
