Default Daizen bushing gone bad???

I have the infamous control arm clankity clank goin' on in reverse with the wheel turned as I did in the first place to cause the replacement of all of my bushings. Is this possible for a polyeurothene bushing to break ( i guess i'm sure anythings possible ).

I would think more people would have an interest in this possible problem since it is a highly sought after mod for our cars.

Todd, are you out there sir?? Any insight??

I think it is highly possible that it's your engine and tranny mounts this time.

Mine are out, but so are my bushings. Damn, my car is falling apart!!!!!

Nazty, if it's the mounts you can get new ones from Irontoad.com (do a search, someone posted up the info) or from Carson Toyota for @ $250 for all 3 from what I remember. But it should be more like a mild thud, not a clankity clank (If that makes sense).

yeah man I am in the same boat as Mike, My bushings are bad ALL of them and my motor and tranny mounts, plus my ball joints I would say, and I am also on my way to a new steering rack plus I am 20K away from timing belt water pump valve guides or seals or whatever they are
Now the wife is pressuring to trade in the SC I got to figure something out fast, maybe I'll try trading up to a younger SC

Think it over carefully dude. I crunched some numbers and it was just better financialy for me to keep my SC. Sure I could go out and sign my name on a line and take on more debt, but hell no. I wouldn't get the same level of enjoyment out of a brand spanking new car and I'd be strapped to payments for another few years. No thanks. If you own the SC I'd say keep it, if you still owe quite a bit then you can consider trading up to a newer one. Sucks though

Yeah man the SC is paid for so I have no payments now. Just got to show her that if I just do one shot drop the money in and fix everything it wuold be less than a downpayment for a newer but less fun car and then we would have payments instead of an older SC with LOTS of newer parts that we have paid off.

Stacy, in my experiences with women it's always best to approach it the same way they approach us, with those 4 words us men hate to hear: "we need to talk" and then sit down with pen and paper and hash it out. See, when we talk car stuff with most women it just goes over their heads because they have no point of comparison. Most women, like my chick, simply think new=better when that's not always the case. That's where that little sheet of paper comes in. Show her what a new car will cost you just to drive it off the lot and write that down, then show her what it'll cost to fix what's wrong with the SC (all the while mentioning that there's no payments on the SC and there will be payments involved with the new car) and write that down. Then let her know all the things you can do together with the savings and make a decision from there. I had the same discussion a few months ago with my lady and guess what? I STILL have my SC, ha ha!
