Default RMM strut bar install challenge?

I followed the instructions and removed the factory plates around the strut mounts and put down the RMM mounts (beefy suckers, that require the near removal of the fuse box to get the passenger side one in place.

When I came to bolt the bar in place, I find after I bolt one side in the holes don't line up with the holes on the other side. My TRD bar was often finnicky to get on and required jacking one side or the other... would this help with the RMM bar install?

Oh and to those who wondered if it clears the Tein Flex with EDFC - no problems there.

that's weird, my trd bar drops in like a charm, never a problem in putting it in. your strut tower isn't twisted right? did you try not to tighten up the bolts on one side before going to the other? something like put the bolts on but let it be loose, and same for the other side, and then tighten them one by one?

Bit, I had no problems at all with my RMM STB. It was a royal PITA to get the bracket to fit on the passenger side due to the fuse box. Other than that, the install was straight forward with everything bolting up perfect. I had my car on a level surface when installing... On a side note: does your chrome bar look good or does it have imperfections in it. I had to return a RMM bar once already due to minor imperfections and small scratches and dings on it. I'm also planning on re-chroming my new RMM STB bar because it doesn't have a nice luster to it. It looks dull even after polishing it.

Thanks guys. OK, I'm a doofus. What I'd originally done was tighten down the mounts and I was THEN trying to get the bar to fit between them. DOH. After dinner I simply loosened up both mounts, EASILY attached the bar to both mounts then tightened down the mounts and the bar bolts. Piece of cake.

Clears the EDFC EASILY:

Will most bars clear the EDFC or is this a RMM only? I don't have Teins, but I'd like to at some point, and I'd get a STB in consideration of that.

I read on here there is a front carbon fiber STB...I think it was UGO but I'm not sure without searching again. Will it clear an EDFC? Thanks!!!

Hehe. We've had this whole discussion and that's why Bit went with the RMM. The safest one is the RMM. The UGO will also clear the EDFC, but not with the Flex. If you are planning CS, then either STB will work. I'd have to look at the top mount of the HAs and other Tein systems to say for sure but I think the Flex is the only one with this issue.

Thanks, guys! I think I'm definitely going with CS from everything I've read, but I'll probably wait on the STB until I can try it and am sure.

I guess this one also fits the GS3 since LXOGOOD has it on his car.
Good to know.
