Default Help: Caliper Colors

So I ordered my new suspension and thought about how since i'm taking off the wheels I might as well paint the calipers and put on some cross drilled/slotted rotors.

My dilemma:

I have a Spectra blue 98 GS3, and I can't decide which color, blue imho looks a litlle weird, red stands out too much for stock brakes, but silver looks nice....

Could you guy's post up some pictures of your brake calipers, especially if you have a blue GS.

Here's a pic of my car if it helps, if someone could do a couple photochops, it would be much appreciated.

There are a bunch of old threads asking a similar question (the first thread I link is for a blue GS specifically). Did you use search ?

Dex painted his black on his 98 Spectra Blue and I think that looks best. I had silver on mine before, but changed to black. Silver didn't match the other colors of silver inside my wheel... always thought "too much silver going on in there".

I think blue will stand out more but silver is classier. Depends on the look you want. The only issue is color match. If you will be going with a different shade of blue altogether, then it is not as bad. If you are trying to match the car color, then you may have a hard time and you will have a slight mismatch when looking at the car.

If it was down to those two colors, I would go with silver. But that's just me.

Would blue pads on a blue car stand out enough for what you're trying to accomplish?

After seeing pictures with blue calipers, it does look a little ricey, especially with the gap between my wheels.....decisions decisions.

My brother has a dark blue first-gen GS300 (darker than Spectra Blue). Since he was not going to upgrade the brake size on this car, we wanted the brakes to be subtle (tiny brakes behind his 19" wheels would look silly, we thought).

For his application, I used "Engine Builder's Cast Grey" I bought at Pep Boys. This has a slight illusion of a subtle metallic, but it is actually a matte finish. Looks terrific on the stock GS brakes.

Dude, are you going to lower that thing? Holy cow! Also, I might suggest removing the extra rub strip on the doors for a cleaner look.
