need help
come to a point where I am considering moving to either AZ or TX. Just wanted to know from u guys in AZ and TX what cities to consider. Main things I am looking at is affordable living (cheaper so have more money for cars and such), new and growing. Not one where unemployment big problem or major hit by the housing bust... Where its growing, has jobs and people are still spending.
Please input on any aspect to help me in my search... BTw myself in health profession..
so far from my search, places are Gilbert, Flagstaff, Scottsdale, Phoneix. Scottsdale seems nice but seems very expensive.
Texas looking at Dallas, San antonio, Austin..
All this with one thing in mind... close to car events, meets, and tuning shops so can still be working on this hobby....
thanks ahead of time.

We have the longest running and biggest car meet in the country in Scottsdale (Scottsdale Pavillions) EVERY Saturday. There are plenty of big name shops in town (Intense Motorsports, Vivid Racing, UMS Tuning, Wide Open Throttle Motorsports, etc) and also Kyoei USA. The only VIP and Lexus specialists in the area for aftermarket stuff. So this is the place to go for your LS430 and SC400. Kyoei also hosts many meets and events and an integral part of the local CL community.

Keep in mind that the Phoenix Metro area is huge (Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, Gilbert, Mesa, Glendale, Chandler, and more) and they are all clustered together so as long as you are somewhere in the metro area, for the most part everywhere is pretty accessible through freeways. We were one of the hardest, if not the hardest, hit by the housing bust so only time will tell if that will get better. We do have many Cali transplants so regardless, your cost of living out here is going to be cheaper than in Cali where you are now. Just avoid places like Queen Creek and Maricopa. You can get homes there for dirt cheap but you will be away from everything. These are "drive 'til qualify" developments that were built during the housing boom. You will want to stay within the metro area as much as you can.
If you end up moving out here, your local CL family awaits. Good luck.
