Needed: Houston Certified Lexus Mechanic
I have a 98 GS3, that was serviced locally (non-dealer). Timing belt, cam seals etc. However, it still leaks oil and the tech claimed it needed to go to Lexus because the VVTI pulley was leaking and required a special tool. The cam seal shows oil and the belt is saturated. Before, I pay 120/labor hr to correct the problem and recoop $800, I'd like to see if a Certified Lexus Mechanic would like to take a look.

Hey Guys, you mean to tell me ALL this knowledge in the area and a member can't get any direction. Not looking for free labor, just knowledge and a helping hand!!

I use Clear Choice Automotive on SW Frwy. I had similar issues (among others) with my 98 GS3. They replaced the cam and crank seals twice and it finally stopped leaking. I take my '08 there now for oil changes, etc.

Houston Independent Mechanics
Did a search here for Independent Lexus mechanics around Houston & have seen the most unhelpful answers I can imagine.
Trying to help a friend that is about to get screwed by a dealer for a 60,000 mile check up & possible TB in a ES 300.
Clear Choice (had to go search for location info) is the only thing that really comes up.

Also saw a short blurb on Bellcrest Automotive. An amazing shortage of info IMO.
Texans are usually very helpful so I don't understand this. quite frankly.

clear choice is good im sure but you might as well go back to the dealer . CC cost just as much as the dealer if not more. but if you are looking for a 2nd opinion then go to CC or another dealer
