Did i make a bad desicion??
Well you guys have heard it before that i did not have one good day with my SC. I think i made a bad desicion going turbo in like two weeks after buying the car. I dont know anything about the car. I am not sure why but everytime something is fixed something else happens. Everything was great after I left Johns house. But the Defi gauge was not hooked up. Went back and hooked it up then had a vacuum leak. Where no idea. I made sure it wasnt the hose to the gauge. The maf that came with the car was acting up and causing the car to die. The second one i had made the car idle to high so i took it off and cleaned it with the MAF cleaner, the car wouldnt start after that. I tried again today it idled fine but it was running way way too rich. Went an bought my THIRD freakin MAF today. Hooked it up and man was i ready for some boost. Reset the battery and everything. Went to drive the car and now it idles low and NO F***ing BOOST at all. The boost gauge goes to 0 pounds and no more. It also reads only 10 at vacuum so i know i have a boost leak. I have no idea where it could be i have checked everythng. I am only sick of my SC already. If Squester, Shern or Kaiser can come take a look at it please let me know. I am done driving the car cause every time i do something else comes up. I am not even sure i am gonna keep it for that much longer.
I hate hearing horror stories like these. I really hope you do get it running right. That is one of the reasons why I haven't gone turbo yet. I know what a big headache it is and I am no where near mechanically inclined to be fixing all sorts of problems. But look at it this way, when you get it running right, you will enjoy the car 100x better after all this suffering. Goodluck!

Yeah that's true, but I've never had experience with boost yet so I'm not willing to try it right now. You are right about Kaiser though, he knows his stuff and does everything himself. I've seen his GS on the dyno and it is sick and steve's SC is also crazy, he's always having fun with all that power to boot.
Eh.. I can't believe you're having this much trouble man..
One thing I learned LONG ago with turbo cars, is that if you ever change anything and it starts to run weird, change it back to how it was before until you figure it out..
It was running good when the vac line to the boost gauge was plugged, right?
So, unhook it and replug it.. See what happens.
I would put everything back to how it was when you left my house on saturday, including that MAF that you cleaned.. The MAF shouldn't just up and fail on you just from a cleaning unless you used a cleaner that wasn't MAF/MAS-safe etc...
Change one thing at a time, and test the results each time.
You should've seen my Conquest when I first got it back in December of 2000.. The previous owner only used it for circle track racing in the dirt.. The thing was hooked up so backwards it wasn't even funny.. They took the IC off, ran the staggered rims on one side of the car instead of front and back etc.. TOE settings were tweaked on one side only.. LOL The thing was a mess.. The headlights would popup randomly and the OEM alarm would go off for no reason even when the damn doors were unlocked.. Haha

Yeah i guess i am gonna do that today after work. I will just put a straight fitting instead of that T one i have on right now. Man the car was so fast for some reason one i left your house. I guess having an Exhaust, Spark plugs and wires and that new intake manifold i put on made it respond a whole lot more. Isnt there like a good way to check for leaks. I know i have them but where.
The car was driving great when i left johns house. I only hooked up the boost gauge with a T fitting. I even took that out today and still the car would just not boost. When the gauge was hooked up it was reading 13 in vacuum or something close to that. I know its supposed to be 20 in vacuum. I cant tell where the boost leak is coming from. Everything is hooked up and solid. I dont think the WG is staying open either cause its brand new
Ok so i hooked the gauge back up to atleast see WTF is going on. Well my car does idle very low. So when i put my foot on the gas just so it would be at 1K its reading -20. So i am starting to think that its not a leak anymore. Might be the WG stuck open. When i am driving the car it goes to 0PSI then stops. Wont go no further.
Kaiser can you please come take a look at the car. I will pay your gas to come out or i will come pick you up. I think i might even be able to drive it up there. It drives fine and all just no boost.
I assume you already got a new maf? If your wastegate is stuck open the exhaust would be MUCH louder if it's vented to atmosphere which I think you told me. What about a crack in the manifold? Have you pulled the intercooler piping off the turbo to check for oil?
Yeah no oil in turbo, I checked all the intercooler piping, I have an exhaust now so i am not running a straight DP anymore.
