not true....the mall is private property. The security guards are hired to patrol that private property. They have every authority to kick you off. GPD can't override that.

The GPD actually have officers stationed inside the security area of the mall, right by the movie theater (neighborhood 5?). As far as I know, the security guards can tell you to leave, but they're not allowed to use force, so they have to call in the PD to handle dicey situations. Usually at malls that's not a big deal since the police are far away, but since they're always at GMills, they're almost within earshot of any trouble. That's why you always see shoplifters being handled by the GPD instead of security.

...that and the fact that most security guards at GMills are middle-aged fat dudes and senior citizens.

so are you sayin its not a good idea to have it at grapevine? i still plan on have the meet there, and if we decide to change anything due to police not allowing us there, I will leave my cell phone number on the first post....and if we move...and any of ya'll show up late. You can call my cell and I will let you know where it has moved too....

Where would be a good backup location? Do you have the address so that I can put it on the first post?

Rockledge park is right around the corner from that mall across the dam. It doesn't have an address but here's the google map.

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...UTF8&z=17&om=1

The parks website says it's address is here.

Even closer then rockledge park is the ******* which has MASSIVE parking lots. Would actually be a really good spot to get a photo.
