Question Inexpensive Auto Transporter/ Auto Carrier

I've recently found a 93 gs300 for sale that's identical to mine and I wanted to know if any of you guys know of anyone or a company that will transport a vehicle from releigh, north carolina to metro michigan area. I looked online and the lowest I've found is 500 and that's more than what im paying for the car! I thought about driving down to get it and driving it back but don't think I can register a car somewhere I don't live due to not having a address and I thought about putting my plate on it but im worried more about getting stopped at the toll booths than the cops! I've also thought about renting a car dollie from uhaul and bringing it back but I don't own a truck and renting a truck and uhaul dollie is even more expensive then the auto transporters!
I've thought of basically every alternative and I figured maybe my CL brotheren might be able to help!

Any helpful info is appreciated!

When I lived in NY, I bought a car in Georgia. I drove it back - without a license plate - just a plate saying "Tags Applied For" and that was good enough. I drove through, SC, TN, KY, OH, PA, NY and later went back down through NJ, DE, MD, VA, NC and SC - still no plates. Wasn't stopped once and no questions asked.

If you choose that route - just keep the bill of sale with you - it will prove you are on your way home to get the tags...

Yeah, in VA they will issue you a five day cardboard transport tag, so you can get a car back home, don't know if Michagan has similar procedures.
