Default Why are so many Gen2 GX threads moved?

What's the point of moving so many threads in the Gen2 GX forum? It's barely worth posting a question, since the replies are likely to be appended to some huge thread no one reads.

Hi,

Understand your concern but disagree it’s an issue.

The majority of merged threads are questions and topics that have already been answered or well discussed but the poster didn’t take the time to search first and reply to those threads. Once the thread is merged, the answers they seek are often already posted above their question (and you sometimes simply may not see additional responses because the question was answered above).

The moderator also usually leaves a redirect link that pulls eyes for those who might add new commentary to the existing (merged) thread and also helps direct the original poster where to find it. Those big threads do still get read frequently, you can watch the view counters increase.

Consider that those active members that do take time to answer questions also often get frustrated by the same questions and topics being posted over and over again and they simply stop replying. And if that happens it’s an even bigger concern for the community. Merging solves that and they can chip in if there is some additional new information or nuance.
