With all the rules and regulations around here...who thinks CL is getting boring?

I miss the SRT forum. I can't even say OBO in the classifieds?!?!

Why can't we have some scantily clad women? Cars and women have always gone togther.

Vendors are leaving and I'm guessing members will be with the too high renewal price tag.

Are there any other car sites out there?

It was looking great when Ethan first took over but it seems like CL is trying to be run as a money maker and not just a site for some Lexus-loving folks.

 

I just joined and fine this community to be very active, and I plan on purchasing a membership soon.

I'm sure this dedicated or co-located server that clublexus sits on does use a lot of bandwidth and CPU, resulting in the high costs of memberships. (I could be wrong) How many people purchase a membership a month?

From the looks of it, clublexus can't be pulling in too much "side" cash, just operating cash.

 

I agree...there are other sites that have hot women threads if we need it....
CL has been an asset to me, and the membership is well worth it IMO. I will be adding that to my sidebar in a moment.
Plus a fine network of folks for the most part...

 

AgGS400 - this site is for LEXUS owners, not Civics, so Ethan decided it should be a bit more upmarket and tasteful. I think his vision is a good one and let's face it, this site has tons of useful information.

As legendary says, if ya want hot women pics, there's plenty on the 'net!

But that doesn't mean there isn't passionate debate on here about rims, politics, sports, etc. And still the occasional nice female pic! Here ya go:

I am abstainng my vote in this poll and am perfectly content with the way ClubLexus is run, thank you very much!

The "let's play nice" thing just means that ClubLexus is effectively and efficiently serving its purpose of being a web site that provides information while allowing civilized Lexus owners to interact with one another on both a social and professional level.

1st, most of us come here to talk about cars, not to look at chicks..and 2nd, i think ethans doing a great job! CL, imo, is one of the most user friendly boards around! Great people! Great info!

 

I'll bite the bullet and say yesh, it needs a hot girls thread, not because the forum is boring, just because it does help to get *that* taken care of. But i'm afraid it'll slow down the servers a tremoundous deal.

 

I prefer the civility of a boring CL to the chaos of a forum run amuck. CL is unique in that maturity, mutual respect, and restraint are qualities that are encouraged. That is why we are one of the few car forums that don't feature a counter-productive "Anything Goes" subforum for people to act like complete jackasses in. I continue to visit CL for that same reason. Remembering that women are car enthusiests too, I think the atmosphere would be much more intimidating to them if the most popular threads here objectified women in lewd sexual positions (as they have in the past). It doesn't reflect too well on professionalism either when Ethan is striving to find more corporate involvement on the site. Also there is the simple math of a Hot Women thread with 300 posts each featuring 100kb image attachments being viewed 15,000 times. Bandwidth isn't cheap. The last thing CL needs right now is to create another expense item so that some members can get their **** fix while they read on. That's just my two cents.

 

To the original poster: Dude, you have no idea what is going on behind the curtains of this boring site. If you only knew how much $, effort and time was invested into CL to get it to where it is now. You don't expect Ethan to pay for everyone just hanging out here and not try to at least make the site pay for its own existence. While I really enjoy looking at all kind of beautiful women in all kind of shapes and sizes (no bit...no extremes!) I think it is inappropriate to have it on here. Reasons being is that we try to keep it clean for any kind of users (including women and children) and because it eats up too much bandwidth.

 

i love this site, and well its a habit now of mine. I think women are great, but there needs to be more women who own lexus coupe's sedan's and suv's that come in here, then it would be SMokin!

Especially with your last couple of sentences regarding the reasons why we should not have a hot women thread. Enough said. Let's move on guys - there are other sites where you can get your **** fix.

 

Ethan has spent a small fortune to develop CL to where it is, so much so that I worry he'll never recoup it all. He's spent some of that on me I'll admit but that only goes to prove the point.

There are plenty of places to find vacant eyed, w hored up bimbos with implants why do you need to look here? Tho I do think you should be able to say w **** but hey, that's just me.
