The last couple of days, for some reason, the "Edit" function on replying to posts seems not to be working. You can type an initial reply and post it OK...no problem But then, if you want to edit it afterwards (or go back and correct spelling/punctuation errors), what you typed formerly does not come back so you can revise it....only an empty box appears, you're stuck with what is already posted, and can't change it.
This seems to happen mostly in the Debate forum.....but sometimes elsewhere as well. Is it (possibly) a new CL feature to keep posters who are up for a reprimand, or who habitually post unacceptable replies, from going back, changing what they wrote, and then claiming they wrote or said something else? That's the only practical function I can think of for it.
Update: Sometimes the Edit function seems to be working now if you click on it twice.
