Meeting announcement
Is there anyway to do a group PM for members within various areas such as by zip code? I for one forget to check the meetings forum and that is with a Houston meeting coming up 11/24.
There must be a good number of members who NEVER check the forum.

Well???
How can we get more participation in the Meetings Forum?
I explained how I myself keep forgetting to check it. I have requested a way to notify regional members of a planned meeting or at least encourage people to LOOK at the Meetings Forum.
I added a post in 4 different forums last week suggesting people just CHECK the forum and ALL were deleted???
It would seem like a positive thing for the club in general... How about some help here?

jbrady,
You make a good point.
We are working on this as you speak. We intend to utilize email notifications to notify people regarding local meets (and a chance to quit getting emails about it) and setting up the calender and making it more obvious on ClubLexus.
Sorry about removing your posts from the forums.

Thanks Ethan,
One more suggestion: Place a PM notice at the top of the forum page on login. I often forget to check my mailbox. With the only notice being at the very bottom of the page... If I remember to scroll to the bottom to read the notice I have already remembered to check my PMs.

At this point, I just PM everyone I know that lives around my area whenever there is a meet. I also try to introduce myself to the new members who lives around my area whenever I see them on the forum. It takes a little time at first, but it will pay off in the end.
I also try to keep a live contact info on all the members that ever showed up for a local meet.

ATTENTION: MODS....
We NEED some way to create an internal mailing list. We just had the Houston meet and only 3 members showed. Certainly there are MORE than 3 Houston area CL members interested in a meet at the track.
We need some way to notify people. It takes an effort to click on the meeting forum then the region and then check the details. Heck the member who started the thread for this meet didn't even show. Out of site out of mind. We did get some pics and video to post but I know it would be even better with a good Lexus turnout.
What do you say? I grow tired of having my threads suggesting participation IN the meeting forum be MOVED to the meeting forum
