In the thread of which you speak, the author of that thread replied to your first suggestion that he "take a good, long, hard look at the Chrysler series of AWD minivans. "

His reply: "Well wwest, minivans are no option, if someone would consider an AWD minivan over any other car, they are "crazy". I do not understand your comments."

His sentiment was/is clear.

This author is a new member (21 posts) and this was his first post in the RX 300 Forum. Was he fresh meat for you?

Two days later, your last reply in this thread "Would you mind very much giving me, us, the basis for your strong opinions against an AWD minivan as a substitute for an SUV?"

A new member coming into the RX 300 forum should not have to defend his/her decision to purchase a Lexus, new or used. Asking them to do so, particularly when you have already posted that they should look elsewhere is rude. Your "experience" as a disgruntled Lexus owner would not allow for fair debate.

New members should be encouraged, not discouraged or confused with suggestions of purchasing an inferior brand of automobile.

IMO sparing a new member from this was best.

I had already provided a numerous links to a wide variety of RX 300 resources, including every one of your RX 300 posts and every one of your Chrysler T&C posts in the RX forum. But that was not good enough.

You make the bold statement, "CL forum "moderators" have called me a lier, called me mostly undecipherable names, made derogatory comments rather than address the issues, etc."

I suggest that you immediately forward a complete record of all incidents mentioned above, where anyone in their position as Moderator, has acted as you say. Please immediately PM Static911.

PS: The company line is "The Passionate Pursuit of Perfection".

Default Paddy...

kutscher:

..."if someone would consider an AWD minivan ("brand" generic statement), over any other car (ANY OTHER CAR{?}, they are crazy..."

wwest:

"would you mind very much giving me, us, the basis for your very strong opinions against an AWD minivan as a substitute for an SUV?"

paddy:

"...should not have to defend his/her decision to purchase a Lexus, new or used.."

Can you honestly say that kutscher's statement pertained in any direct way to the purchase of a Lexus?

Can you honestly say that my request was anything more than a request for information?

Kutscher obviously has very strong opinions regarding an AWD minivan versus "any car". I wasn't asking him to defend his opinions, all I was asking him for was the basis of his opinion, information that might be of great value to everyone on this forum.

wwest

PS: "The relentless Pursuit of Perfection" is Lexus' company line, not CL's. And I could not delete my original post, you have my full and complete permission to delete this entire thread if you wish.

Absolutely and without hesitation
The title of the thread: What to look for in a used RX.
The author's original question: "I currently drive a gs4 and my wife loves it but wants an suv for herself, due to potential winter driving issues. What suggestions do you all have regarding purchasing a used rx."

I've read every post in the RX forum and I'm almost through reading every post in every forum on this site. I've also run into your posts on other forums and I've seen what happens to others in debates with you.

It's not pretty...Posts deleted (Both yours and theirs), monetary challenges offered by you to prove you are right, semantic arguments to side-step issues. All apparently due to some some strange, condescending streak of vanity that assumes everyone else is wrong. New users should not be fodder in your crusade against Lexus.

wwest, you do not speak for everyone on this forum. You can delete your posts. That does not change the fact that your sentiment was/is clear to all that read it.

You deleted the bold statement, "CL forum "moderators" have called me a lier, called me mostly undecipherable names, made derogatory comments rather than address the issues, etc."

Again, I suggest that you immediately forward a complete record of all incidents mentioned above, where anyone in their position as Moderator, has acted as you say. Please immediately PM Static911. Stand behind the truth you expound so feverishly.
