New Posting Icons Missing?

Hi - I really appreciate all the improvements to CL, but with the recent format change I notice that the icons that we used to get that indicated a new posting are now missing (or am I the one who's missing something?). They made it very convenient to quickly determine what threads have been added or responded to since the last time I visited CL. I also miss the link to the "next page" at the bottom of the screen (I know, I know - is he too lazy to just click the next page number????).
