What’s your opinion of the New Club Lexus Forum Design?

I just wish the tables would expand to the full width of my browser window. I'm in 1280x1024 and the text stops less than 2/3 the way across my screen. I don't understand why the tables aren't just set to 100% (they're something like 730 pixels).

I like the new look, change is always good. The only thing that I wish was brought back are the short cut links. I now have to click on Classifieds and then the GS forum, or GS forum and then suspension. Thats just me being picky, other than that, the site is kewl.

The only thing I don't like about it, is that it doesn't have the last ten or 15 post's on my Desktop anymore like I use to have it, other then that I think it's great, change is good, makes u look back at the older way and be like damn look how much better it got =)

What happened to the Gold Lexus L we would have under our names? Would like to see that back. But am glad to see the > go from the top of the page. Plus Blackice doesn't report as many port scans etc from this new Site.

I personally LOVE IT!!!!!
I always use 1024x768, and it looks sweet....The first few times I logged on, alot of the "small" text was sooo small it was illegible....I tried to change the resolution, but it didnt help at all...I use Windows 2000 and the following is what worked perfect....
-I opened Explorer and selected: tools-internet options-general-accessability-ignore font sizes specified by web pages....
This will simply allow you to use the settings specified in YOUR system, not the ones on CL........

Looks good to me
Personally, I like the look – got that “understated elegance” befitting the Lexus marque. Got a few minor suggestions that can wait till everything settles down. I also use 1024x768 resolution and even these old eyes can read everything.
But one that seems worthwhile – why not make the Group Buy section easier to find? IMO, it’s “buried” down at the bottom of the Classified section. It is one of the major benefits of membership. Would have taken me a while to find if not for the link provided by 2SAVVY in the PI Torque Converter announcement. I expected to access the group buy section by the tab/tool bar at the top of the page.

I'm with bit on this one...IMO, Optimizing for a particular size (800x600) or optimizing for a particular browser is elitist. Especially on a db driven site that presents all of it's information in HTML tables (like CL).
Every web site looks different on every computer. If that fact is not accepted and adopted by the designer, then there will be problems.
That being said, IMO, surfing the web at 1280x1024 and above causes "white space" issues that are unattractive and that the viewer must regularly accept. Web sites generally look bad at those high resolutions.

The fix I described above may only have been the remedy for me.....
Bit, if you do try that, it wont make all of the text one font size, it will just make the fonts remain within the parameters you have set up on YOUR system (it doesnt involve a resolution change).....you probably already knew that, but just in case, it may help you...
