i did a search in this sub-forum for "alert" but didn't see anything. On slickdeals i have deal alerts set up so i'm emailed when someone mentions a certain keyword (or keywords when i use the "|" operator). I was wondering if we could get the same thing going in here. Mainly for things in the marketplace but i think there would be uses in other areas of the forum too

You can try this feature which honestly I've never used or even seen until you asked this question and I went looking for it. Let me know if you can get
to it and if it works

It's located under the User Control Panel (User CP) and then right under the profile menu to the left.

Hmm.. I went into User CP and under the profile menu to my left all I see is:

Your Control Panel
Your Profile
Edit Your Details
Edit Profile Picture

also your link just takes me to a "you do not have permission to access this page."

Looking at it further I think its a new feature Internet Brands is still rolling out and hasn't enabled yet. Will look into when it will be turned on and let you know.

On a related note, while I do receive an e-mail update whenever a thread I'm subscribed to gets a new post, I don't receive the daily e-mail summary for sub-forums I am subscribed too even though I have requested to receive it. Any thoughts on that?

Thought I'd bring this up again. I really wish I could get alerted when certain keywords were brought up in a title or first post. (again, like slickdeals.net 's deal alerts)
