Local Time

I live on the East Coast of the US. I have selected the Date/Time to be -5 GMT and it tells me it's 08:39 when in reality it is 07:57

Is there something wrong with the sites Date/Time function?

Dude, under your user options, there is a choice for the timezones, pick EST (Easter standard time) and you'll be on track!

Come on.......I know that. I even said I selected it to be -5 GMT wich is Eastern.....and only the hours should be different not the minutes!
