new layout with LEFT MAIN MENU
I actually find the menu quite annoying. No one needs to use the menu THAT much. And my font is way too small now. I hope others will agree and eventually remove the menu. I understand it's there to help but it's taking the focus off the posts while in the forums.

I actually like how it looks. I had worked with a few other people putting this designed together so I will be fine tuning it over the next few day.
We will see how it evolves over time.

I'm with Globe on this one. The menu takes up too much space across all the posts. Perhaps if you could click on the window shade thingie and have it roll-up as a preference and give the width back...

I think it is less "busy looking" as it was on earlier/before... You have to scroll down to far to get to a forum.. I like the menus to the left however IF it was smaller... The red lettering in the "thread starter" should remain white or gold IMO for easier reading and focusing... What do you guys think? It was tight to me as it was............ Either way keep up the good work!
Why not put the menu at the top of the page?

Yeah the foum is going to be better with the new mods in time I'm sure... Let's just give Michael some time to finess the details.... (larger fonts...smaller menu)
I dig the "movie reviews" and "reviews".... Maybe we will start visiting the other aspects of the site now. Instead of coming straight to the forums ...

I've coded the forum so that when you are reading the threads that you have the whole monitor screen for just that. That was where the full real estate was needed. Looking good...
Hope this helps.....

Allright !! lots of comments here. I will wait until Mike finishes so I can give my 0.02 cents.
About left "main menu" bar Mike, why don't you use a "filter"? you know, when you click on the filter, it drops down a menu and you choose what you want to do.
Just a comment !

Menu's ok although I doubt I will ever use it.
But the font is too small. I have good eyes, but it's too tiny.

Hmmm, I'm running a 1600x1200 resolution on a 19" monitor and I can read everything just fine...all the fonts looks OK to me...I'm running IE 5.1 for the Mac and I also check CL on my PCs (running Win98SE and WinXP with IE 6) and it all looks fine.
It's kinda nice having the menu on the side there...it's handy...maybe as it evolves it'll become more useful to more people...
