Default Better Identification for Closed Threads.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...=277785&page=6

I noticed that this thread, about the 350Z, was shut down with a post from Dave at the end saying that it was a former banned member trying to get around reinstation rules.

I won't get into reinstation rules or who deserves to come back or not.......that is not my place or my buisness.....but one thing might help in threads like this that have been shut down. Currently you don't KNOW that a thread has been shut down until you get into it and scroll through it down to the end and see the little blue-and-white "'Closed" sign with the padlock at the bottom of the last post. You can't tell, just from the main menu of forums and threads that you get into when you first log into CL, that a thread has been closed. You often have to scroll all the way through it to find out....although this one also had a "closed" sign at the beginning, as well.

Here is a suggestion.....when Dave or a moderator closes a thread, for whatever reason, perhaps the "Closed" sign can also be placed in the opening list and menu of forums/threads, not just at the beginning or the end of the thread itself. That way, you will know that you can't make a reply and will not waste time in it, except of course to read the posts if you want. I don't know if the CL software will allow for this, but it is just a suggestion.

If you look on the forum page, the leftmost icon is for locked threads.

OK, you're right, but the symbol is hard to decipher at first glance..it is much different from the blue/white symbol in the threads.

Anyhow, thanks...I'll at least know what to look for. That answers my question.

Another hint... you mention this image at the end of the thread
but one thing might help in threads like this that have been shut down. Currently you don't KNOW that a thread has been shut down until you get into it and scroll through it down to the end and see the little blue-and-white "'Closed" sign with the padlock at the bottom of the last post
That closed image actually appears at the top and bottom of every single page of the closed thread where the button usually is, in addition to the closed / lock icon on the forum thread list as Neo mentions.

Yes, thanks Dave. Neo also mentioned the orange and white sign at the main forum list, though I wasn't used to seeing it. I'll know what to look for from now on.

I think it should appear with an icon of michael jackson, then you'll know it's no longer popular nor in use
