Question Links to Amazon Items Don't Open When Clicked On

I've noticed in numerous threads posts with links to Amazon items they do not open when clicked on. Instead, when clicked-on the page goes all white and reverts right back to the post page.

It wasn't always like this.

Here is an example - a post with a link to an Amazon item: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...l#post11811821

Does Club Lexus not want members to have access to Amazon links?

The Amazon link within your linked post opens for me.

What browser are you using and what extensions are installed?

@IB JT I'm using Windows 11 on a PC with Chrome Browser (130.0.6723.92) & AdBlock.

I've just now configured AdBlock to pause on this site - and with that action the Amazon link opens to the linked URL page.

However, I don't recall AdBlock ever preventing any link (including an Amazon link) from opening to its URL page because the linked page has an advertisement - but recently on ClubLexus AdBlock has treated linked Amazon pages as if it was an ad... Maybe this reaction change has something to do with the recent changes to the ClubLexus website.

I see that AdBlock may block a linked URL page for a number of reasons, including:
  • Tracking links: Ad blockers can block tracking links, especially if they were installed as pop-up links.
  • Excessive ads: Ad blockers may block links if there are too many ads on the page.

► I think the reason AdBlock was blocking the linked Amazon URL page is because immediately on opening the Amazon page it has numerous advertisements appearing on it ...

Funny thing is - I can open the main Amazon.com page or any other Amazon page (linked or not) on any other website (with AdBlock blocking ads across the web) and AdBlock doesn't block it. It only blocks linked URL Amazon pages here on ClubLexus.

If you don't want to revise your ADB settings, you can try holding CTRL when clicking those links also.

Yes, thanks! I went back to having my AdBlock block ads across the web. I'll try to remember to hold Ctrl for Amazon links here on ClubLexus...

I ran into this also where AdBlock is preventing links to amazon from working.

I paused it on this site and it is working fine.
