Default cutting off subject in thread listing

why is this thread title being truncated to 2 letters?
(title is MM Condensed-Review/Test-Drive: 2023 Ford Mach-E Mustang)

guessing because the next part "Condensed-Review/Test-Drive:" has no spaces in it, so it truncates before.
would be better if it considered "/" a separator too so the title would become "MM Condensed-Review..."

Edit: After discussing with the team and reviewing it further, it's not so much the special characters that caused the issue but that they were used to create one very long joined word. The software has a limit to what it can grab from the URL to display, and this thread's title exceeded that due to the long joined word: Condensed-Review/Test-Drive:

understood, which is why i said if hyphen or / were treated like space (in a regex for example), then the title could show in forum thread list as something like: "MM Condensed-Review/Test-Drive..."

Would you all like me to re-word how I do the titles to my reviews/write-ups?

Unfortunately that is not likely to be a doable item at this time. It would require a custom script and would have to target thread titles only, because those characters are used in usernames and may also be relevant in posts where it would break formatting.

thanks for the reply, didn't expect it to be done honestly, as it's the only time i've seen the issue show in decades.
