$300 plus labor to update maps lmao
Is this a joke?? Labor.... putting a disc or usb into a slot and waiting 1 hr for the maps to update is considered labor?
I hate lexus more each time I come to a dealership and they try to gape my ***.
sidebar... it’s 2019 and a lot of Lexus models still are only 21/28ish on gas mileage? I refuse to believe that these companies haven’t figured out technology to get better gas mileage. It’s all a scam because of oil and politics.

which is really good when you consider its curb weight of 3700lbs and the fact that Lexus is primarily a luxury car division.
Now consider the non luxury brand equivalent 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid at 51/53 mpg w/208hp...
Compare that to a 2009 Toyota Camry at 21/31 w/158hp.
So technology is working in the consumers favor, but the consumer has to make choices that fit their needs. There has never been a better time for
the consumer in the automotive market, whether the consumer wants; hp, mpg, luxury, utility or some combination to suit their needs.

No scam, just companies using the laws of supply and demand. Lexus makes a model for those who want better gas mileage, the 2019 ES300h, it gets 40/39 mpg

Bichon, thank you for the corrections... Demand and technology are working against those who prefer a stick, the
automatics have become so good that people no longer demand a stick. In the past a stick may have had adavntages
in mpg and acceleration, that is no longer the case. Sometimes progress leaves something desirable behind and
creates a collectable market, manual cars from the 90s or 2000s may become the ''muscle car'' equivalent in the
future collector world.

Most of the population lives in a metropolitan area and spend most of their driving on congested streets. Who in the world wants to have a stick shift under those circumstances? Younger kids don't even know how to drive a stick shift. They put the gear in neutral and coast to a stop light, loosing control of the car the minute they do that. The new multi-gear transmissions even give better drag performance that a stick.

My response was to mike33, whose post I quoted. He stated that the '19 ES300h gets 40/39, the rating for the '18. I responded that the '19 gets 43/45. I never said anything about the IS. His point, and I agree, is that Lexus makes a sedan for people who prioritize fuel economy over performance; the Lexus IS is not that sedan.
