Which fuel line from the gas tank to high pressure fuel pump?
Hey guys, which hose attached to the high pressure fuel pump is the line coming from the gas tank? I am just trying to see if there is gas coming from the tank to the pump. Trying to diagnose why my car will crank but not start. This picture was taken from another post.

Do you hear the fuel pump when you go into Power on?
I'd bet on a weak starter before fuel pump going out. Also, check your battery. Even though it's cranking, it may be too weak to get it running.

These cars are controlled by to many electronics's to troubleshoot this way. I would hook it up to Techstream and resolve any errors that are displayed. You can get a OBDII cable with Techstream for $10 - $15 on Ebay.

I second this. techstream will tell you exactly whats going on. I paid like $15 on eBay or amazon for the chord and the techstream software disk. Then I setup a virtual machine on my macbook air to run windows xp. I think techstream only works on windows xp. I initially purchased this to program a used key fob, saved me hundreds compared to going to the dealership.

In response to Techstream I already tried and it does not read any codes. After about 15 seconds the link to the ECU will terminate. The techstream software takes way longer than 15 seconds to establish a link and pull any codes. I do have a handheld OBDII scanner that will link up and pull codes in time before the ECU terminates the connection. Codes I get seem generic with P0455 and P0441. The 5V reference line gets shorted out in 15 seconds and then the radiator fan starts running full blast. So I have done a lot of reading and ppl said its a sensor usually and in our cars most likely the high pressure fuel sensor. I already replaced that with one I purchased on eBay but the problem still seems to be the same.

I also tried unhooking the fuel pressure sensor before replacing it to see if it still shorted out the 5V reference voltage and it seems like it still did so it probably wasn't that sensor but I had just replaced it anyways. I might just start unhooking sensors everywhere until I find one that doesn't cause for the 5V line to short out.
