Roof Cargo Carrier

Just installed the Thule Wingbars on my 2013 unit. Going to add the Thule Motion XT L cargo box and 2 Thule UpRide bike racks.
Thule makes the most aerodynamic cargo boxes imo.

I agree, I have the Thule motion XT XL got it form REI / they had the best price around- very nice cargo box and every easy to load and take out as well. We recently did a 5000 mile trip all the way to different parts of Florida and back and the box held up very good. I couldn't have all the stuff and still have space in the SUV to be comfortable.

I have the Thule Atlantis 1800, a few years old, found it on craigslist, fits great on both the LX and the HIghlander. I have the Yakima round bars on the HIghlander and the factory crossbars on the LX. Using the Thule universal mounts on the box it fits both fine. No way it would fit in my garage with the box on top, but only takes about 5 min to pull it off the shelf and get it mounted once I pull out of the garage.

Do you guys have a problem with the spoiler on the top hatch hitting the roof top box? If so, how have you remedied this?

Personally, I'd like a low profile rack like a Gamiviti, Prinsu or something like a Front Runner but I've heard that the 2016+ LX's have the top roof rails bolted in from below the headliner which is opposite of 2015 and older vehicles. Don't want to remove my headliner to put in a rack. I think Front Runner has a rail mount version for the 200 which will work on the 2016+ LX.
So.. until I figure out what to do, I've been using an old Thule Force L which if I remember correctly has 17 cubic feet of storage. When I need to bring more stuff, I use a B-Dawg Towing Herbie hitch mount cargo carrier (500 lb capacity) that lets you tow 3000lbs or add a hitch mount bike carrier behind the carrier. I wired it for brakes and turn signals.

a lot of time the trim wood rots out around a garage door. and when you are getting that all replaced (with modern plastic wood, i would presume) is a good time to just bump up the garage door size.

Does anyone take the trouble of re-installing the plate on the cargo carrier, and then putting it back on the car after the trip?
i am going to do a lot of road tripping across the USA this fall, and there are a lot of districts you drive thru where they are just itching to give an out of state car a ticket for something!
