Limited slip diff 99 ls400
Would it be worth it to have one put in? Anyone have one put in?

I'm pretty sure all 1998-2000 LS 400s have Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) as standard equipment, so no - it's not worth it at all if you're trying to reduce wheel spin in slippery conditions for your 1999. I also don't know of any LSDs that will fit on UCF20/21s.

here is a recent thread on this!

probably not worth putting one in unless you are very serious about drifting and/or road racing the vehicle.
though nice to have, it's overkill for a street car.

as far as doing donuts or maneuvers of that nature are concerned, a limited slip diff is bascially essential. you can make the back swing around but it won't hold the drift. i've read though somewhere on here that eventually when the diff wears out enough it develops limited slip properties lol...
