Deciding between 2016/2017 RX, thoughts, suggestions?
Hi folks, new to your fine forum (been reading a bit, but haven't posted) and I'm considering a 2016 or 2017 RX350 AWD, preferably loaded but not the F Sport model. Any advice, things to watch out for, previous problems (I've seen a lot on the vibration issue, is that resolved or something I am going to have to proactively look for?) that I should know would be most appreciated.

A more specific question: based upon my research it looks like a few safety options (rear cross traffic alert, etc.) are now included in the base package but other than that there aren't really any significant changes/additions from 2016 to 2017. Correct?

Correct, no big differences.
Yes there is a list of problems but the major ones have TSBs and the others are smaller issues. But if you want to avoid some of the larger ones, go hybrid and don't look back.

One thing my '16 doesn't have over the '17 is the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, or at least not the same version as the '17. The '17 model will apply the brakes for you where mine will only alert me.

If I were you what is the price difference and if it's really big from 2016 to 2017 maybe buy the 2016.
My wife has a prius prime with the brand new pre collission braking at low speeds and even with that she got into an accident when someone rear ended her and she rear ended the person in front. Not sure if the damage would have been worse for the front of her car or not..
Make sure to test drive for vibrations, etc. I have a 2016 with no issues and love it.

Buy a Japan built one, that issue list will be far shorter.

Does anyone know if the TSB's were applied to RX inventories across dealerships throughout 2017? I bought mine in June, 2017 but wondering if I should take it to the dealership or not. I don't experience half the issues noted.
