Brake lights not working

Brake lights not working
Hi, RX300 year 2000 brake lights off. Mechanic replaced brake light switch, which he found faulty. So now the power is going back through the circuit, but still no lights. He traced power from switch to traction control module, and said the fault is in the module and I need a new one. I searched online for this scenario and could not find one, which I found odd. So I am making sure this is possible, and what am I looking at cost-wise. Thanks

Break lights no working.
I have a 99 rx300 and the same problem last year.switch was fine.
the problem was the break relay o module.is behind your driver side back tire well.is a bit hard to find but u can remove your panel from inside the trunk.yes all the plastic below your very back window.my relay had the cables loose so my mechanic weld them back together.we almost bought a new o one from !100 to 200 but the welding job save me that.
first try the break switch by the pedal ($20) and then try the break switch relay in the back...that may no b the name of it...auto part store didn't have it on yheir systems neither.good luck

Dont mean to knit pick, but I think the term is solder and not weld for circuit boards/modules.

Before you start soldering, did you test for power?
I haven't done this job, so the below is from the Body Electrical manual and that other thread
From the wire harness side, the pins are
1 2 3 ----- 4 5
6 7 8 9 10 11 12
With brake pedal pressed these should all be +12V

- Pin 7 (Green/white) - input power, comes from brake pedal.
- Pin 1 (Green/Yellow) - output power to high mount brake light.
- Pin 2 (Green/Red) - output power to left and right brake lights

I think my post covered what to check next.
While the brake pedal is pressed check for power at pins 1, 2, and 7 of that connector to the brake light failure sensor module.
If the connector is disconnected you can only check pin 7 at the connector. It needs to be connected for the module to send power to pins 1 & 2
If pin 7 does not have power there is a problem in the circuit leading to the module.
If pin 7 has power but not 1 or 2 the problem is with the module.
The above is hard to read but looks like the ABS wiring diagram. Look for the Stop Light wiring diagram.

Hi! I believe it may be an ABS diagram regarding trac module? The mechanic said “you have power coming and going from brake light switch now. Before it stopped at switch. (He replaced it) Now the power makes it to the trac module but does not leave there to go to brake lights.” Will check what you said. Hope it is not faulty trac control module? Appreciate your help.
