Heated rear seats?
Hi,
I got my 2013 GS 350 AWD with the Luxury package two weeks ago and I could have sworn I was told it had heated rear seats. But looking at the rear center armrest I see no buttons for heated seats. I found a copy of the 2013 Lexus GS 350 brochure online and zoomed in on the picture of the rear center armrest and sure enough there are two buttons for the heated rear seats (although the brochure makes no mention of heated rear seats).
Does anyone with a 2013 GS with the luxury package have heated rear seats?
Thank you,
Jim

You are missing the rear seat heater buttons? They should be above the temperature button next to the screen readout in the fold down armrest. You should have them.

Without Heated Rear Seats
I think Heated Rear Seats for the Luxury package was a $440.00 option.

Thanks for the replies... mine looks like the second pic, the one without the heated seat buttons. Not sure why I was thinking that I had them, probably seen it somewhere and thought since I had the luxury package they were be included.

Can confirm. Have cold weather package but NO rear heated seats. Looks like there were different add-ons.

It is indeed very confusing. The 2013 GS brochure is here: http://www.lexus.com/documents/broch...S-Brochure.pdf
In page 10, under "GS 350 WITH LUXURY PACKAGE", it does not explicitly state that rear heated seats are included in the luxury package but the picture of the rear center armrest shows the buttons for heated seats. In the same page, under "INDIVIDUAL OPTIONS", it states "Heated rear seats (Luxury package)". Not sure what to make out of this.

Confusing indeed... And for what these cars originally cost (mine was a hair below 60k which included the Cold Weather Package) you would think they could have thrown in heated rear seats and not made it an option.

I have never seen or maybe I just did not notice a Luxury package without rear heated seats.
They charge such a ridiculous premium for the Luxury package and then want to nickel and dime you for the heated seats too, that is pathetic, they should be included in that overpriced package. No wonder so many just chose the ES over the GS when it is such a high premium over the ES and now we might not see another generation of the GS or worse it could be some lame electric vehicle. I feel kind of bad for you, I would be pissed if I spent time looking for a luxury package, paid extra for it and it was one that did not even have the rear heated seats which are next to impossible to add yourself.

Nickel and dime packaging has been the norm for most lux brands as long as I can remember. You can buy a $70k BMW and with added packages leave the door with another $30k in options. It’s not just the lux brands. Priced out a Highlander lately? Even at the highest Limited Platinum package, you still have a punch list of options you may not have.
Two of my friends just bought F150 pickups. Their final price was in the $50k range and they are firmly in the mid level. They could have gone anywhere from $20k Less to $30k more and still had the same body, chassis and engine as they do now. It’s very common and one of the reasons it’s so tough to compare apples to apples when buying used.
The only company I can think of who doesn’t do this is Honda. With those, the questions are limited to EX, LX or Si and which color...
