Default Wheel Shop Wrecked TE37... now in wheel hell... Help!

ong story short, I was have my Volk TE37's refinished and the shop ended up shaving off too much of the lip on the lathe and ruined one or my rear 19" TE37's... It's been hell ever since. They were the original TE37's and discontinued and I can't find a replacement to save my life. After 9 months of finger pointing, I ended up giving up on trying to get them to replace the whole set and started my search for a used set of wheels.

The first set I ended up getting were some Rays from a G35. I'm riding on Tien coilovers, with about a 1" drop and the 225/40's on them rub really bad when I'm at the steering stops.

I then ended up getting a pretty bad curb rashed set of the 18" 4IS 350 wheels. After dropping $400 on getting them refinished (and they look awsome now), when I tried to install them, I realized that the front wheels don't fit my 06 IS350. I feel like such an idiot! The wheel diameter for the front is 2.5" and it looks like there is a little ring that requires 3"
Can anyone verify if that is the case? 2014 IS350 wheels don't fit on a 2IS?
Also, do we think if I threw 225/35 tires on the G35 wheels they would no longer rub? When measuring both the front and rear wheels are 0.5" narrower than my TE37 which were 9" & 10" vs. (9" & 9.5" for the G35)

IS350 3IS 350 wheels... i think? (225/40-18 & 355/35-18)

a couple of things, since it seems like you have a few issues you're trying to tackle head-on.

- can you be more specific about how the wheel refinishing shop machined off too much of the lip on the wheel? you mean the outer lip of the wheel? does it affect tire bead sealing against the wheel when the tire is pressurized?

- if you're talking about the OEM Rays 19" off of the sport-packaged G35's, you'll need to run 225/35-19 on in the front and 255/35-19 in the rear for clearance and to keep OEM rolling diameter.

- as far as your 3is wheels are concerned, what you're referring to is wheel hub bore. 2is have a hub bore of 60.1 mm, and those 3is wheels should have a hub bore of 60.1 mm as well - which means that you should not have to use aftermarket hub-centric rings. on a related note, the OEM Rays 19's (and most Nissan/Infiniti sedans) have a hub bore of 66.1 mm, which means in order to run the OEM Rays 19's on a 2is, you would need 66.1-60.1mm hubcentric rings - which I assume are on your 2is right now. simple solution is to remove the hubcentric rings, and those 3is wheels should bolt on without any issues.

hope this helps. keep us updated.

Dude, remove the centering rings from the hubs and your 3IS wheels have to fit, That plastic ring was there for the wheels with a bigger bore size, it is not a Lexus part, pry it off with a screwdriver and install your new wheels.

Edit:
Make sure you clean those hubs with a wire brush or sand paper, also apply little bit of anti-seize to prevent the wheels from sticking and seizing to the hubs.
Have fun

Fingers crossed that this thing prys off! I had no idea... Thought it was a factory part. I bought the car with the Ray's.

LOL @primavera thats the first thing I saw...the hub rings are still on there from the Rays. They are probably rusted on but a rubber mallet and some WD-40 should loosen them.

Update. The spacer popped right off and the wheels fit!

New problem. The new TPMS sensors won't read. I took it to the Lexus dealer bc I was told they had something that could read the SN of the sensors and program them.

I'm being told they won't read and they say I need to buy new sensors for $483...
The sensors that are in the car will not program after multiple attempts. Unfortunately we would need to replace them to get them to read.

Don't waste your money at stealership, buy the set of Pacific PMV-107J, (42607-33021) sensors and take your wheels to a tire shop of your choice. Any good tire shop should be able to re-program for little or nothing.
Some shops incl. dealerships will charge $200 - $400 for sensors, there's really no need to pay that much anymore.

I have an 07 IS350 that has no sensors installed. Will these particular sensors program to my car? More specifically, will they program with a techstream? If not, will the Denso’s?

Yes the Denso are the OEM Pacific sensors, just cheaper. I got set on eBay brand new for $135 minus eBay bucks and $15 coupon one time use that eBay sent me.

Programmed using techstream when I rebuilt my wheels to replace my 11 year old ones. Very simple. Not sure if the 3IS sensors are the same from OP wheels.
