Is there a way to delete preset radio stations on a Lexus RX350?

 

just save new ones on top.

 

if you want to change the stations the best way is to just over ride them with the "new station", if you want to truly delete them, you have to disconnect the cables to the battery and after about 15 mins they will be gone, BUT SO WILL ALL THE OTHER SETTINGS FOR YOUR SEAT AND MIRRORS and all the other personalized settings. So it can be done but its a whole lot more work than just saving the new station over the old and ignoring the ones you can't/don't want to change

 

Similar to the above suggestions, you could just overwrite all the stations with a 'blank' frequency (ie. one where there's no channel). I believe 88.5 is one such frequency.

Same result, less effort.

 

Probably the worst thing that will happen if you disconnect the battery has to do with the next time you have to get a SMOG CERTIFICATE. Your computer sensors will not be active, and you will be unable to get a smog certificate, therefore unable to get a registration, therefore unable to drive.

 

 

I drove every drive cycle I could find on the Internet. I endangered my life, coasting to a stop on the edge of a freeway. I could go on for months. It is nowhere near as simple as merely driving 60 or 100 miles. There is MUCH more to it than that. But this is a thread about deleting presets, not smog certificates. The answer is, you can't do it. (Delete presets.)

 

I think it's called deleting personal info.

I also wanted to delete some of the presets. It makes it easier to navigate through with the steering wheel controls. Ill probably just double up on stations. Don't want to reset the computer.

 

What happens if you change the number of presets, say from 36 to 12. What does it do? I'm guessing it deletes presets 13 to 36. If so, then you could just change it back to 36 and I assume presets 13 to 36 will be gone.

 

why not just pull the fuse for the radio

 

Is there a solution to this for the 2020 NX ?

I want to completely nullify/remove/delete some of the pre-programmed stations in my list.

In the interim, what I did was duplicate the neighboring station, which is still annoying.

 

Figure out which stations you want to use: AM, FM and/or XM
Consider grouping them by genre: news, music, sports, politics
Overwrite any existing stations with your new entries.
Set the total number of stations to reflect your needs, unlikely a single driver will use 36 stations?
(Older Lexi do not have station count setting, workaround is to simple repeat your pattern 2 or 3 times
within the default 36 slots. Station A,B,C,D,E,F,- G,H,J,K,L,M,- A,B,C...)
Now you can use the steering wheel up/down rocker to change through your stations without even looking
at the radio screen.
Note 1: you can set the tone controls to each source: Midrange boost for AM, Bass boost for FM, treble cut for XM.
Note 2: you can press and hold the steering wheel "MODE" button to mute radio or pause playback

 

I can't say for sure about the NX, but, for other Lexus and Toyota vehicles, if you go into the settings, you will find one called "delete personal data", and it will eliminate any station presets. But it will also wipe out other settings, including mobile phone pairing, saved destinations, and the home screen setup. So, using the delete personal data option is likely to result in you having to spend a bit of time to set up the vehicle (again) to the way you prefer.

 

You guys are life savers. Helping me figure out that you can cut down the presets from 36 to something lower made my day! Gone are all the sxm presets I can't use now that the trial has ended!!!!
