2017 Premium Sport Design Creaking Sound From Front Suspension
Hey guys,
I've searched the site and TSBs. No Luck. Anybody have an issue with a creaking noise when going over bumps?
My 2017 Sport Design has a subtle yet ever present creaking noise on rough roads. The wifey sez it's on her side too.
Any ideas?
Struts?
Strut Mounts? (they usually clunk or clack)
Suspension Bushings?
I'm going to call the dealer for warranty service, but I'm about 130 miles from the dealer and it would be nice to have an idea of what's wrong before I go.
I know diagnosing these kinds of problems can be long and drawn out.
Let me know what ya'll think.
Thanks!

Does it do it when you push down on the front bumper bouncing the truck up and down several times? if so you could have someone try to find the location while doing this.

Probably not it but one to check... hood bump stops

The sport design is a newer option and when I looked at it there are brackets used. Possibly the source? Check the fasteners used, not sure if that is a cover for a bolt or a cheap plastic clip in the picture for the front.
I see bolts on the rear.

Could also be the upper control arm bushing on the front suspension. Your GX seems too new to have suspension squeaks already, but it could be from the winter salt. You might try getting under the front end and in the wheel well with a high pressure hose and cleaning the parts up as much as possible. Then some lubricant.

If you can jack the front up shake the wheels and turning back and forth see if you can hear anything.

I had this as well (in addition to a far more annoying one in the back) and this ended up being the issue.

Friendly bump.
A subtle noise within the last month started to develop in the front. It only happened over bumpy/uneven roads where the vehicle traveled up and down a couple of times. I could hear it occasionally even with the radio on.
It turned out to be the hood and the rubber bump stops. I turned both the left and right ones about 1.25 turn and the noise is gone. For those looking for it, there are 4 rubber stoppers near the front grille. The ones you are looking for are the larger ones on the far left and far right. These are ones you can turn. The two closer to middle hood latch aren’t adjustable.
The noise on mine sounded like a low hollow squeak/click similar to if someone clicked their tongue up against the roof of the mouth. I know it sounds odd but that is the closest sound I can describe it as.
