Exclamation 97 Sc400 Alternator wiring harness headache

So recently my alternator went out on my 1997 Sc400, and while replacing it, the alternator plug fell apart and I noticed that the wires had zero insulation left, they were just bare wire all the way up. I got a new (used) pigtail wired it up and replaced the connector, but my battery light is staying on. The alternator I'm using is a Denso, and is outputting 14.1v when the car is running. Also I made sure to follow the plug exactly, I have no idea why the battery light is on at this point. The only way I got it to turn off once was by just twisting the old wires and plug back on to the harness and plugging it in just to see if it's go off. I did notice that looking at a wiring diagram it's showing I have two of the wires switched. My wires are in the order (from left to right) yellow with green stripe, black, and white. Here's a picture of my plug vs the wiring diagram. Diagram is from a 92 sc400, but I'm assuming it's the same.

Any help is greatly appreciated! I hope I was detailed enough let me know if there's more info that would help.

My old plug
Wiring diagram shows (from left to right) white, black, yellow with green stripe

For the 1997 SC400, #1 is yellow/green wire #2 is black wire and #3 is white wire.

Source: I have the electrical wiring diagram for the 1997 SC400.

Thanks for the help! Now that I've crossed that off my list of possibilities, I'm really lost. I can't seem to figure out why the battery light still isn't going off. It's super annoying, checked the 150A Alternator fuse too but it's still in good shape. Any suggestions? Or should I retry and pray?

Thanks for the part numbers! Those are actually the exact ones I picked up, the connector part number is correct (90980-11349), but unfortunately the wires aren't. The wiring on the factory harness is 18 gauge wiring, but that part number (82998-12440) is like 14 gauge wiring. I think that's the only wiring they sell for that, so my next best option was to order online or junkyard. I got a junkyard one that was in amazing shape and wired it up. I still haven't went back to cut and rewire, just dropping this info here in case someone else is having the same problem.

I'll update when I solve the problem

From what I can tell, 82998-12440 are 18 gauge wires based on these diagrams and the AWG chart on wiki

Maybe it is, and I'm wrong about the gauge, but the wire coming off the harness is significantly thinner than the 82998-12440 wire.

Here's some pics:
